In order “To be the insurer of choice for the public and affordable housing community” – as stated in the company’s Vision Statement – Housing Authority Insurance Group is trying to expand its operation through Housing Enterprise Insurance Company.

Through HEIC, a licensed stock company domiciled in Vermont, HAI Group can issue Commercial Property and Casualty insurance policies for affordable and mixed-income housing owners and managers. We will begin the process of transitioning policies to this company in several states in early 2009.

To issue these policies, HEIC must obtain licensing so an ongoing state filing effort is underway. HAI Group has received approval for HEIC State Licenses in Colorado, Illinois, Michigan, Mississippi, Nebraska, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Vermont, and Washington. HEIC COP Property Coverage has been approved in Colorado, Michigan, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Vermont, and Washington. HEIC Liability Coverage has been approved in Colorado, Michigan, Oklahoma, Vermont, and Washington.
