And the honor goes to…
Housing Authority Insurance Group continues to leave its mark on the insurance industry. HAI Group sponsored a pair of college students for the International Center for Captive Insurance Education’s Associate in Captive Insurance program, which educates insurance professionals in all aspects of captive insurance.
To earn ICCIE’S ACI designation, students must complete four steps. They must pass five classes – An Introduction to Alternative Risk Financing Mechanisms; Understanding Risk and Risk Retention Mechanisms; Protecting the Captive: Predicting Risk, Reinsurance and other Transfer Mechanisms; Forming and Operating a Captive; and Business Ethics in the Captive Insurance Industry – and two elective courses. Also they must participate in three “hot topic” teleconferences and complete 12 more continuing education credits upon earning the ACI designation.
Harry House Scholarship
ICCIE awarded the first Harry House Scholarship at its general session on Aug. 8. HAI Group sponsored the scholarship in honor of its longtime former board member, who retired in 2006. It’s awarded to a minority student at an accredited risk insurance management program to pursue the Associate in Captive Insurance designation.
