HousingCenter.com Launches Legislative Affairs Section
HAI Group’s Web site now features a new Legislative Affairs tab. Visit www.housingcenter.com and click on this tab in the upper right hand portion of the page to explore this new section.
The Legislative Affairs section features Research Reports, including the recent housing Economic Impact Study and reports from focus groups on completed work as part of HUD's Administrative Reform Initiative. Additional research and reports will be posted to help keep members informed of HAI's growing involvement in efforts to improve public housing's political environment.
You will also be introduced to HAI's new Legislative Action Center, which is a powerful Web-based resource for members who want to stay informed on housing legislation, House and Senate Committee meeting schedules, communicate with representatives, take action jointly with other PHAs, or follow the upcoming election process. For a brief tutorial on the Legislative Action Center service, click here. You will need a login ID and password to access this area.
When you open the center window, you will notice the Featured Alert. Click the “Take Action” button below and join other PHAs by sending HAI-prepared (editable) letters to your representative. If you don’t know who your representative is, the system can tell you and address the letter.
Council of Large Public Housing Authorities (CLPHA) and Public Housing Authorities Directors Association (PHADA) members will also find new Legislative Action Centers on their Web sites, launched in collaboration with HAI, and using the same technology so that members may move from one Legislative Action Center to another.
We would like your feedback on this new service. Please send comments to Brian Braley at bbraley@housingcenter.com. |
