Meet the 2007 Resident Scholarship Program Winners

Congratulations to the 2007 HAI Group Resident Scholarship winners. There were eight recipients this year, all of whom will receive $2,500 to continue their education.
We received 262 applications by the deadline, eclipsing last year’s total of 242. As always, it was very difficult to choose the recipients from this very deserving group.
Our recipients for 2007-2008 are:
Kenneth Woodland of Watertown, MA – A 2007 high school graduate who is an 11-term honor roll achiever and captain of the wrestling and football teams. He has awards in accounting, civics, and SILS (Service, Integrity, Leadership, and Spirit in the school community) to name a few.
Sonia Bouchard of Bristol, CT – An Early Childhood Education student and current professional in the field, she has been honored with several awards and certificates. She is dedicated to her pre-K classroom and has received Teacher Appreciation Awards from peers.
Sarah Capron of Barre, VT – Sarah has participated in vacation Bible school activities at her church and has attended various support groups in her community.
Joan Tillman of Oakland, CA – Joan has been on the dean’s list for the last four semesters. She is also an Americorps Foster Youth Mentor and volunteers at Helping Hands for Children.
Jessica Ney of Salt Lake City, UT – She is a 2007 high school graduate, was on the cheerleading team, and is certified in 3-D design and child care.
Juan Lopez of West Hartford, CT – Described in a reference letter as “focused and trustworthy, he strives to learn and is eager to learn.”
Clemmientine Hunter of the District of Columbia – Despite growing up with a loved one having a drug addiction, she has set her goals to succeed and eventually attend law school after majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Management.
Ashley Zodrow of Chapman, KS - A recent high school graduate, she has maintained honors throughout, and was selected by the high school staff in recognition of student excellence. |
